The Water Meter Division maintains all of the water meters throughout the City. While the division is not responsible for the utility billing, the meters it maintains serve as the cash registers for both the Water and Sewer utilities, providing the basis for billing the majority of all water and sewer services provided by the City. It also includes the Cross-Connection Control Program that safeguards against contaminants from a customer’s property flowing backwards into the distribution system. The division is physically located in the Technical Services Complex located at 300 E 5th Street near Bandshell Park. In addition to the Water Meter Supervisor, the division includes three Water Meter Repair Technicians, a Cross-connection Control Coordinator, and the division’s Principal Clerk.
