The City Clerk's Office is a division of the City Manager's Office and is located in the southeast corner of the second floor of City Hall.

Employees in the Ames City Clerk's Office are responsible for maintaining the City's real property records, contracts, bonds, City Council Proceedings, and other historical, legal, and administrative documents. They also serve as deputy elections officials and recording secretaries to the Mayor and the City Council.
Notary services are available on a walk-in basis at no charge during regular business hours.
