AMES, Iowa – The City of Ames is bringing community fun directly to local neighborhoods this summer with three remaining “Neighborhood Connections Road Trip Stops” planned across the community. The next stop is from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17 at Mitchell Elementary School, 3521 Jewel Drive.

Residents of all ages are invited to stop by, meet neighbors, connect with City staff and elected officials, and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere filled with activities, equipment displays, snacks, and more. Each event is designed to help residents learn more about City services while having fun close to home. The next Road Trips are Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Wednesday, Sept. 23

“Our Neighborhood Connections Road Trip in May was well-attended with lots of questions and conversations,” said Assistant City Manager Pa Vang Goldbeck. “These events are a great opportunity to explore City vehicles, ask questions, meet elected representatives, and enjoy the afternoon with neighbors.”
