Rummage RAMPage Donations Begin July 25

AMES, Iowa – The ninth annual Rummage RAMPage will be held from Friday, July 25, (donations only, no sales) through Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Ames Intermodal Facility parking ramp, 129 Hayward Ave. Rummage RAMPage is a week-long community garage sale that sells donated items and is staffed by volunteers representing non-profit organizations.

A partnership project between the City of Ames and the Iowa State University Office of Sustainability, Rummage RAMPage grew from the desire to repurpose items often left on the curb during the mid-summer move out and lease changeovers in Ames. The event strives to keep usable items out of the landfill. All proceeds from the sale are distributed back to the non-profit groups who send volunteers. More than 50 area non-profit organizations have signed up to assist in this year’s event. Anyone is welcome to donate or shop.

Those who have an immediate need to donate usable items should contact area second-hand stores for information. Those who want items picked up for Rummage RAMPage can schedule pick-up on Friday, July 25; Monday, July 28; or Tuesday, July 29 for a fee. These fees are directed back to community non-profit organizations. For curbside pick-up, fees start at $15 for Iowa State students, $30 for residents, and $60 for in-home or office pickups. There is additional pricing for extra-large items, making multiple pick-ups at the same address, and Story County pick-ups outside Ames. Payment is required in advance of service.
