AMES, Iowa – The outside northbound lane of Grand Avenue will close between 13^th Street and 1410 Grand Avenue, beginning Monday, Oct. 12, as crews prepare for upcoming power pole replacements by Ames Electric Services.

The daily lane closure will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday Oct. 12 through Friday, Oct. 16. City staff will monitor traffic flows and adjust traffic signal timing as needed.

Prep work includes tree removal on the east side of Grand Avenue and dirt removal from the lot in the northeast corner of the 13^th Street and Grand Avenue intersection. This work precedes the main power pole replacement project scheduled at the 13^th Street and Grand Avenue intersection in November.

Additional lane closure information will be issued ahead of the power pole replacement work being started.
