AMES, Iowa – Ames International Partner Cities Association (AIPCA) is seeking host families for a delegation of middle school students visiting from Koshu City, Japan. The City of Ames has enjoyed a partner city relationship with Koshu City for more than 30 years and has sent and received adult and youth delegations using the home-stay model.

AIPCA is seeking Ames host families to introduce a Japanese student (ages 14-15) to American life and create lasting connections. Families will learn about Japan and gain a firsthand perspective on Japanese customs and traditions. The students will need accommodation from Thursday, Sept. 17 to Tuesday, Sept. 22. During this time, host families will share meals, participate in activities together, and help each student experience life in Ames.

To apply to host a student, fill out the form at www.cityofames.org/AIPCA.

The mission of AIPCA is to promote cultural and educational exchanges between the people of the City of Ames and its partner cities. While AIPCA is not an official City board, four delegates are appointed by the Mayor.

For questions, contact AIPCA at aipca@cityofames.org or Assistant City Manager Brian Phillips at 515.239.5101 or brian.phillips@cityofames.org.
