City of Ames Holiday Closings for Thanksgiving

City of Ames offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving

AMES, Iowa – Many City of Ames departments and divisions will be closed during the Thanksgiving holiday. Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and the Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave., will both be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28, in recognition of Thanksgiving.

The Community Center in City Hall will be closed on Thanksgiving, but open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28. The Ames/ISU Ice Arena will be closed on Thanksgiving, but open from 8 to 9 a.m. for Skatesgiving 5k, and noon to 2 p.m. for public skate, on Friday, Nov. 28. CyRide buses will not operate on Thanksgiving. Additionally, CyRide will operate a break schedule from Saturday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Nov. 30, while Iowa State University classes are not in session. The Resource Recovery Plant, 110 Center Ave., will be closed on Thanksgiving. The administrative offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 28, but the tipping floor will be open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
