AMES, Iowa – The City of Ames Public Art Commission (PAC) will launch the Ames Public Art Tour (APArT) from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, weather permitting. The event will offer community members an opportunity to view pieces from the city's public art inventory, learn about the public art process, and engage with commission members.

The tour will begin and end at City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., starting with a half-hour walking tour of downtown Ames from 2 to 2:30 p.m. A bus will transport participants for the remainder of the tour around the city from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Participants should gather in the west parking lot of City Hall at 1:45 p.m.

“The tour is an opportunity for residents to explore the vibrant art throughout our community and learn more about how the public art process happens in Ames,” said PAC staff liaison Brian Phillips. Registration is required as space is limited. Interested community members may sign up at the link: www.CityOfAmes.org/PAC.

“We are excited for PAC to launch the APArT initiative, bringing the City’s art collection a step closer to the community,” said PAC member Ratnesh Kumar.
