Litter Program

Keeping Ames beautiful is a top priority. You can help by picking up trash when you see it! The best, most impactful place to start is in your neighborhood. You are also encouraged to participate in the city's current litter initiative, which encourages people to volunteer pick up 25 pieces of litter on the 25th of every month of 2025. The time it takes to pick up litter around you is minimal but leaves positive impression about our community.
