Highway 30 Sanitary Sewer Relocation

The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) has started construction along eastbound US Highway 30, from South Duff Avenue to South Dayton Avenue in Ames. As part of this project, the eastbound entrance ramps from South Duff Avenue to US 30 will be reconstructed and realigned further south, bringing the new alignment closer to the Hunziker Youth Sports Complex access road.

Work on west side is complete. DOT will be working on the east side in conjunction with the bridge construction.

Exit onto Dayton Ave is closed. Traffic wanting to go northbound should use the Duff Ave exit and S 16th detour as marked. Crews continue working on grading and underground utilities to replace the South Skunk River bridges.

Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation (Basin 11)

The City of Ames has contracted with Municipal Pipe Tool, LLC. to perform repairs to the sanitary sewer system in your area. The purpose of
this work is to repairs aging infrastructure and reduce the risk of sanitary sewer backups. You may notice utility flags as the underground utilities are located prior to construction commencing.

Starting Thursday July 30th, Municipal Pipe Tool & its
subcontractors will begin construction in Basin 11.
Construction activities will include establishing
temporary construction access routes, repairing
deficient sections of sanitary sewer and rehabilitating
deteriorated manholes. Further notices will be delivered
as construction proceeds. This work will not prevent 
access to your properties. All construction activities 
will be within City of Ames property and easements.
