Ames Dog Park

Please use the bags provided. 

To ensure the turf and facility are well maintained, the Dog Park will be closed annually during the third week of September (Monday through Friday). Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.

Please attach your dog’s current rabies vaccination certificate to the email with your Facility Permit and Liability Form. If you don’t have an electronic copy, please bring the certificate when you purchase your tag. We cannot assign a tag to your dog without this certificate on file.  You may ask your veterinarian to fax your dog's rabies certificate to 515-239-5355 or email it to amesparkrec@cityofames.org. Your dog tag will be processed and mailed, and gate access will continue as long as the rabies certificate we have on file is current. If it is not current, please attach an updated copy with your form. This information was included in the renewal letter emailed in November.

Please Note: We will begin winterizing the park system on Oct. 15 each year. This includes shutting off the water. After this date, water fountains and restrooms—including those at the Dog Park—will not be available. Please bring water and a bowl for your dog when visiting. Thank you!
