Proposed Draft of 2026-27 CDBG Annual Action Plan
NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT AND PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED 2026-27 CDBG/HOME ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Ames is seeking public comments on the proposed
2026-27 CDBG/HOME Annual Action Plan(PDF, 644KB) to be funded pursuant to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The Annual Action Plan is a portion of the City of Ames’ five-year (2024-2028) Consolidated Plan.
The proposed 2026-27 CDBG/HOME Annual Action Plan will include information on the proposed use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG/HOME) funds for low- and moderate-income persons. The 2026-27 Annual Action Plan will outline proposed activities, project locations, budgets, and the scope of activities being funded. Copies of the 2026-27 Annual Action Plan are available for review at the following locations: the Department of Planning & Housing, City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, and the Ames Public Library, located at 515 Douglas Avenue. The Proposed Annual Action Plan describes the federally funded activities to be undertaken by the City and its recipients during the 2026 fiscal year (July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027).
Comments may be submitted to the Department of Planning & Housing at the above address or by e-mail to
vanessa.bakerlatimer@cityofames.org. The thirty (30)-day public comment period will end on July 23, 2026.
Additionally, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Ames City Council will conduct a public hearing to receive comments on the 2026-27 Annual Action Plan Projects on July 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 515 Clark Avenue, 2nd Floor, Ames, Iowa.
Persons wishing to comment on the 2026-27 CDBG/HOME Annual Action Plan Projects may state their views at this hearing.
