Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center Ribbon Cutting

Ames Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Ames City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center. This event will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, at the aquatic center located at 115 N. Elm.

Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center includes a six-lane, 25-yard lap pool, a zero-depth entry splash pool, a current channel, a wellness pool, a body slide, party rooms, multi-purpose rooms, and a walking track.

Recreation activities at Fitch include lap swim, water walking, independent water exercise, tot time, open swim, and swim lessons. The facility also has space available for private rentals of pools, multi-purpose rooms, and party rooms.

The Parks and Recreation Department manages 41 parks and offers approximately 200 athletic, aquatic, instructional and wellness programs. For more information go to the Parks and Recreation website at www.amesparkrec.org or call the Community Center at 515.239.5350.
