All decorations, unless in a permanent vase installed on the stone or foundation or suspended above ground via shepherd's hook, will be removed from the cemetery on Monday, June 1, 2026. If you wish to save flowers, pots, etc., they must be removed prior to Monday, June 1, 2026. These guidelines apply to both fresh and artificial decorations.
Potted plants or flowers set on the ground or atop stonework will also be removed from cemetery lots on Monday, June 1, 2026. These items will be stored (and watered, as needed) near the cemetery maintenance buildings (south of the cemetery office) for one week.
Items that are wilted or unsightly, or are not picked up prior to Monday, June 1, 2026, will be disposed of or repurposed in flower beds within the cemetery or the City of Ames parks system.
