AMES, Iowa – The tenth annual Rummage RAMPage will be held from Friday, July 24 (drop-off only), through Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Ames Intermodal Facility parking ramp, 129 Hayward Ave. Rummage RAMPage is a week-long community garage sale that sells donated items and is staffed by volunteers representing non-profit organizations.

Those who want to donate but need assistance with dropping off items can schedule pick-up on Friday, July 24; Monday, July 27; or Tuesday, July 28 for a fee. Iowa Home Consulting donates its time to provide pick-up service and donates all fees back to community non-profit organizations.

For curbside pick-up, fees start at $15 for Iowa State students, $30 for residents, and $60 for in-home or office pickups. There is additional pricing for extra-large items, making multiple pick-ups at the same address, and Story County pick-ups outside Ames. Payment is required in advance of service.

A partnership project between the City of Ames and the Iowa State University Office of Sustainability, Rummage RAMPage grew from the desire to repurpose items often left on the curb during the mid-summer move out and lease changeovers in Ames. The event strives to keep usable items out of the landfill. All proceeds from the sale are distributed back to the non-profit groups who send volunteers. More than 50 local non-profit organizations have signed up to assist in this year’s event. Anyone is welcome to donate or shop.
