AMES, Iowa – The tenth annual Rummage RAMPage begins on Friday, July 24, with donations being accepted. Sales begin on Saturday, July 25, and continue through Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Ames Intermodal Facility parking ramp, 129 Hayward Ave.

The City of Ames, in partnership with the ISU Office of Sustainability, hosts this community garage sale designed to keep reusable items out of the waste stream. There are 52 non-profit organizations sending volunteers and sharing the proceeds.

Rummage RAMPage grew from the desire to repurpose items often left on the curb during the annual move out and lease changeovers, and to keep these items out of the landfill. The event works by selling items that are donated. Volunteers from local non-profit groups help the City of Ames and ISU Office of Sustainability staff run the sale. The event hours are:

Item Drop-off ONLY

  • Friday, July 24, noon - 6 p.m.

Sales and Drop-off

  • Saturday, July 25, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 26, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Monday, July 27 – Thursday, July 30, noon - 6 p.m.

Sales ONLY

  • Friday, July 31, noon - 6 p.m.

Half-Price Sales (NO drop-off)

  • Saturday, Aug. 1, 8 a.m. – noon

Donations may be dropped off at the Intermodal Facility from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, July 24, and during sale hours through Thursday, July 30. A few pick-up slots are still available. Iowa Home Consulting manages the pick-ups and donates the fee. Donations will not be accepted during the final two days of the sale.
