The Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) is inviting residents, visitors, and stakeholders to weigh in on its 25-year transportation plan update. Input can be shared at an in-person open house on Tuesday, April 29, or through an online survey.

The AAMPO is developing Ames Connect 2050, the latest iteration of its Metropolitan Transportation Plan, which outlines priorities and strategies to improve the Ames metro area’s transportation system over the next 25 years. Public input will help shape the final plan and guide future investments in the region’s streets, trails, transit system, and more.

Public Open House:

Date: Tuesday, April 29

Time: 4 – 6 p.m.

Location: Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave.

Online Survey:

Dates: Tuesday, April 29 to Tuesday, May 13

Link: Available at www.aampo.org/amesconnect2050.php starting April 29.

At the in-person open house, attendees can learn more about Ames Connect 2050, ask questions, and share feedback at their own pace, as no formal presentation will be given. For those who can’t attend the open house, event materials will also be available online from April 29 through May 13 as part of an online survey, which invites participants to share their views on transportation goals and strategies.

AAMPO will make every reasonable accommodation to provide accessible meeting facilities for all persons. Appropriate provisions for the hearing and visually challenged or persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) will be made if the organization is notified by April 21. Call 515-239-5169 to request these accommodations.
