Property owners of lots with stormwater management facilities are responsible for regular inspection and maintenance of the practices. Records are kept for a minimum of 3 years and provided to the city by request. The inspection report form template is provided in the link above. If the system in place is a proprietary system, contact the manufacturer for the inspection checklist for the specific system. The City of Ames does not have a preferred BMP vendor list for BMP inspections, maintenance and/or annual reporting.
