Parks With Shelters for Rent

Ames boasts 40 parks and a wide range of recreational facilities. Shelters are available at Brookside, Daley, Emma McCarthy Lee, Inis Grove, and Moore Memorial parks. The rental fee is $20 per hour, with a two-hour minimum. Shelters can be reserved for use from approximately April 15 to Oct. 15, with reservations accepted year-round.

Hickory Shelter

Hickory Shelter is the west shelter, closest to the north parking lot and the fire engine. It has seating for approximately 180 people. Amenities include a drinking fountain, electrical outlets, grills, lighting, handicapped-accessible, picnic tables, and a serving table.

Linden Shelter

Linden Shelter is in the middle of the park, closer to the creek. The shelter has seating for approximately 60 people. Amenities include a drinking fountain, electrical outlets, a grill, lighting, handicapped-accessible, picnic tables, and serving table.

Maple Shelter

Maple Shelter is near the entrance to the park, across 6th St. from the Georgie Tsushima Memorial Skate Park. The shelter has seating for approximately 180 people. Amenities include drinking fountain, electrical outlets, grills, lighting, handicapped-accessible, picnic tables, and serving table.

Daley Shelter is an alcohol-free facility that seats approximately 64 people and includes two grills.
