Christofferson Park, located at 2130 Oakwood Road on the south side of Ames, is a great place for a family gathering, to practice basketball, enjoy a nature walk through the prairie, or simply watch the fun activities on the playground.

The park was dedicated in 2000 on land purchased from the Christofferson family, who had owned the property since 1891. It features a shelter with picnic tables, a water fountain, and a grill—perfect for hosting get-togethers with friends or family.

Access to the park is easy, with a shared-use path, off-street parking, and a bus stop adjacent to the entrance.

Take time to visit. Once you do, you might not want to leave.
