Parks Shelters for Rent

Ames boasts 40 parks and a wide range of recreational facilities. Shelters are available at Brookside, Daley, Emma McCarthy Lee, Inis Grove, Moore Memorial, and River Valley parks. The rental fee is $20 per hour, with a two-hour minimum. Shelters can be reserved for use from approximately April 15 to Oct. 15, with reservations accepted year-round.

Diamond and Court Reservations

Please call Valerie at 515-239-5350 for reservations for diamonds, courts, tournaments, sand grooming, and full maintenance.

Baseball Diamonds

Baseball diamonds at Brookside Park may be reserved. Reservations will be accepted after April 12.

  • Field 7: $15 per hour. Full maintenance, including line marking, is available for $45 per diamond, per session, in addition to the hourly fee.

  • Fields 8 and 9: $10 per hour. Full maintenance, including line marking, is available for $20 per diamond, per session.

Softball Diamonds

Softball diamonds at River Valley Park, fields 1–6, and O’Neil Park may be reserved. Reservations will be accepted after April 12. Unlighted diamonds are $10 per hour, and lighted diamonds are $15 per hour. Full maintenance, including line marking, is available for $25 per diamond, per session, in addition to the hourly fee.

Tennis/Pickleball Courts

Tennis and pickleball courts are available for $7 per hour, or four courts for $100 per site.

Volleyball Courts

Volleyball courts without lights are $10 per hour, or $30 per court for two courts with lights (two courts are required for a reservation). An all-day fee is $100 per court. Sand grooming is $45 per court, per session.
