Softball
Season
Summer (April to July)
Fall (Aug. to Oct. - regular season only)
League Information
12-Inch Men's and Co-Ed Leagues Available
League fees include minimal field maintenance (no chalking), one umpire, balls, and administration. There will be no postseason play for the fall season.
ASA fees are to be paid in addition to league fees. The ASA fee does not need to be paid if your team is already registered with ASA in the current year. (Team name and division must be the same.)
A maximum of eight teams will be accepted per league (except Sunday Co-Ed C), on a first-come, first-served basis. Please indicate a second choice on the registration form.
Actual league assignments may vary based on the number and type of requests. Past league performance may be considered when the Parks and Recreation Department makes final league placements. We cannot guarantee all requests.
Scheduling will consist of one doubleheader per week for six weeks, depending on the number of teams. All players must be at least 17 years old at the start of league play.
Individual Player Rules:
- A man playing in the Men’s C League may also play at any level of Co-Ed.
- A player may play on only one team per league.
Note: Men’s and Friday Co-Ed leagues are limited to eight teams. Registering does not guarantee a spot. Parks and Recreation staff will contact all teams about the status of their registration as the deadline approaches. If your first-choice league is full, we will try to place you in your second-choice league.
Bat Regulations:
All bats will receive a current-year City of Ames sticker on the first night of play. Any bat used must be on the approved list and not on the non-approved list. To check the lists, select the link below:
