Friedrich Pitch Mini-Pitch Court Ribbon Cutting

Ames Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Ames City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Friedrich Pitch, a mini-pitch soccer court at Lloyd Kurtz Park.
A mini-pitch is a hard surfaced court designed for futsal. Futsal is a small-sided version of soccer that is fast-paced and uses a heavier ball.
The installation of sidewalks in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) connect the mini-pitch to the Stonebrook Community Church parking lot and to other amenities in the park. A drinking fountain is being installed with the help of a grant from Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation. With the support of Stonebrook Community Church, park users can utilize the church parking lot every day except Sundays before 1 p.m
