CDBG/HOME Public Forums 2026

The City of Ames will host two public forums to educate the public on the status and the future of the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs and to gather public feedback for its 2026-27 Annual Action Plan projects. The forums will be held on Wednesday, March 25, at Ames City Hall Council Chambers, 515 Clark Ave.

The funding of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Programs for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, has not been announced. These funds can be used to implement a wide variety of community and economic development activities directed towards neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and the provision of improved community facilities and services. The funded activities must meet the following three national objectives: 1) benefit persons of low and moderate income; 2) aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; and 3) meet other community development needs of particular urgency.
