The public is welcome to attend a ribbon-cutting event for the new Ames Parks and Recreation Maintenance Facility, 700 E. 13th St., at noon on Wednesday, April 22.
This new facility includes offices, restrooms, a break/meeting room for staff, and more than 7,500-square-feet of storage for Parks and Recreation equipment and materials. The facility consolidates regularly used equipment to one site and removes equipment from sites that are near the end of life or in a flood plain.
The new facility, located south of the existing maintenance building, cost $1.5 million. It was designed by SVPA Architects and constructed by King Construction.
