On July 10, 2018, the City Council set a date of Public Hearing for the discussion of a proposed Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (S-SMID).  The Campustown Action Association (CAA) has submitted a petition to create the Campustown Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District pursuant to Chapter 386 of the Code of Iowa. A SSMID is a self-taxing body that assesses and applies a levy rate to commercial properties within an approved district.
