City Hall and all other City facilities are closed to the public as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19. The closures will be effective after 5 p.m. Thursday, March 19, and will continue through May 15, 2020. City staff will continue to report to their offices and serve the public. Residents are encouraged to conduct City business online or by contacting individual City departments directly. Residents who are unsure how to conduct their City business may contact the City’s customer service hotline from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 515.239.5670.

Outside Funding Request Process

Each year, the City of Ames provides funding for programs and activities that meet certain criteria and that fulfill a public purpose. Interested organizations should fill out the Outside Funding Request Process application. Grant applications are due to the City Manager's Office no later than November 15 of each year. You may submit completed forms electronically to  BPhillips@cityofames.org

The applications are reviewed by a committee, which makes recommendations for the City Council's approval in February during the City's annual budget preparation process. Requests for funding may be considered at other times of the year in the event that an unforeseen need or opportunity arises that could not be fulfilled during the normal application timeline.
