Toll-free Option Added to Online Meetings
Using a toll-free phone number has been added to the options to participate in Ames City Council and City Board and Commission meetings effective today. Due to the growing number of cases of COVID-19 in Iowa and to encourage social distancing, City meetings moved to teleconferencing through Zoom, a video and audio remote conferencing platform.
The online meeting format started in March and will be in effect at least through July and may be extended. City Hall remains closed to the public.
As in the past, Ames City Council meetings may be viewed live on Cable Channel 12 (for Mediacom subscribers), video streamed live from the City’s website (www.CityofAmes.org/Channel12), or viewed live on the City’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/AmesChannel12). An archive of City Council meetings is available online at: https://www.cityofames.org/government/departments-divisions-i-z/media-production-services/meeting-video-archive
