Ames Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a meeting to view updated plans for Tahira and Labh Hira Park. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, in the meeting room at the west Hy-Vee, 3800 Lincoln Way. Parks and Recreation Department staff will be available for participants to ask questions and provide feedback.
“After two previous feedback sessions, we are excited to bring these plans back to the public,” said Parks and Recreation Director Keith Abraham. “We’ve had a lot of neighbors participate in the process and express their preferences for how to best use the space. We’re pleased to be moving forward on a wonderful new park for all residents to enjoy.”
Tahira and Labh Hira Park will be constructed on the former Edwards School property, which is located on the corner of Westwood Drive and Woodland Street. When complete, the 6-acre parcel will include a parking lot, play structure, green space, shelter, picnic tables, paths, and other features.
Community members who are unable to attend the meeting but interested in providing feedback should email Abraham at firstname.lastname@example.org
