Public Input Sought on Community Needs Assessment

Post Date:02/05/2020 3:00 PM
The Story County Quality of Life Alliance, a group of local public health, youth and family services organizations as well as the United Way of Story County, Story County government, and the City of Ames municipal government, is leading the process for the 2020 community needs assessment. The focus of the needs assessment is to determine the most important health and human services issues that need to be addressed in Story County and why those issues require attention.

“By taking part in the survey, participants can voice concerns about issues affecting the well-being of Story County residents,” said Assistant City Manager Deb Schildroth who serves as an Alliance member. “Hearing from as many voices as possible gives us a better picture on where to focus service efforts and funding.”

Several methods of data collection are being used for the assessment. An online survey has been developed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SCNeedsAssessment

Paper copies of the survey are available at the Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave; United Way of Story County, 315 Clark Ave.; YSS, 420 Kellogg Ave.; and other human services organizations. Outside of Ames, the survey is available at the Story County Administration Building, 900 Sixth St., in Nevada, and most libraries. Additionally, surveys can be requested by calling Gerri Bugg at YSS at 515.233.3141.

All survey responses are anonymous and confidential. The survey link will remain active until 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 1
