Draft FFY 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program is Available for Public Comment
The Federal Fiscal Year 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is available for a public comment period that will end on Friday, June 28, 2019. The TIP is an annual document required by the Department of Transportation to program regional transportation projects from the long range transportation plan with Federal investments.
In order to receive Federal funds for transportation improvement projects, it is necessary for the projects to be part of the approved Iowa Department of Transportation State Transportation Improvement Program. The initial step in this process is for the Ames Area MPO to develop a Transportation Improvement Plan. Regulations require the Transportation Improvement Program to include transportation projects for the next four years. The draft plan provides funding for projects which received Federal funding including street improvements, CyRide improvements and trail projects.
Copies of the TIP are available for review Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ames Area MPO office, Room 212, Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames.
