Airport Master Plan Open House Set for Feb. 26
A public open house regarding the Ames Municipal Airport Master Plan will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Ames Municipal Airport Terminal, 2520 Airport Drive. Participants are welcome to come and go as convenient. There is no formal presentation scheduled.
The Ames Municipal Airport (AMW) Master Plan Study is being undertaken to evaluate the airport’s capabilities and role, to forecast future aviation demand, and to plan for the timely development of new or expanded facilities that may be required to meet that demand. The ultimate goal of the master plan is to provide systematic guidelines for the airport’s overall maintenance, development, and operation.
“Anyone with an interest in the Ames Municipal Airport is welcome to stop by the open house,” said Ames Traffic Engineer Damion Pregitzer. “The airport is critical to the economic growth of Ames, and the master plan will identify improvements that help prepare us for the next 20 years of community aviation needs.”
