The Ames City Council workshop will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 515 Clark Ave. All community members are invited to attend. There are three topics on the agenda.
The workshop will begin with discussion about parking meter rates and will include a staff report requested by the City Council on extending free parking hours in the CBD lot south of Main Street. Also, there will be an update on a possible City Council and Ames Main Street request to commission a Downtown parking study.
This will be followed at approximately 7 p.m. by the Neighborhood Summit. Held every few years, the Neighborhood Summit is one way the Council receives updates and input from Neighborhood Associations on ways to strengthen neighborhoods. The Summit also provides an opportunity for dialogue among the City Council, residents, and neighborhood associations.
Following the Neighborhood Summit, the Council will hear a presentation from the recommended consultant on a proposed scope of work related to creating a new City of Ames Comprehensive Plan.
