Three lap lanes will be dedicated for Adult Lap Swim during open swim (short course).
The deep end is closed Monday & Wednesday 7:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-6:30 PM due to aqua classes. The lazy river is closed on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday 7:00-8:00 PM for water walking.
Located in the heart of Ames, the $10 million Furman Aquatic Center includes a 550' lazy river with a waterfall and two tremendous water slides both over 200' in length. There's a 50 meter pool that boasts a 150' drop slide, basketball hoops, 3-meter platform, and a 1-meter spring board. A 5,000 square foot recreational pool includes zero depth entry, spray features, a large play structure, a children's slide, and a toddler slide.
Deep Water Test: Kids 12 and under. We will be deep water testing at 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 PM daily .Child must push off from the side of the pool, swim to the middle of the 50 meter basin using the crawl stroke (with face in the water), tread water for 30 seconds and then swim using the crawl stroke (face in the water) back to the side of the pool.
