  • Server Named Professional of Year

    Karen Server, Purchasing Manager for the City of Ames, has been named Professional of the Year by the Iowa Public Procurement Association (IPPA).

  • Trout to Be Stocked at Ada Hayden on Nov. 8

    Due to sub-freezing temperatures predicted next week, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has moved the trout stocking at Ada Hayden Heritage Park Lake to 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8.

    The Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) has launched Forward 2045, an update to the Ames area’s regional Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), and is seeking community feedback.

  • Power Plant Boiler Tube Failures Creating Challenges to Waste Collection and Processing

    Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance issues at the Ames Power Plant have created a temporary interruption in garbage collection and the processing system in Story County.

  • Union Pacific to Begin Track Maintenance

    Union Pacific Railroad will be performing track maintenance in the Ames area beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The railroad will start working at 600th Avenue in Nevada and move west through Ames. Maintenance crews progress at roughly two miles per day depending on weather conditions.

  • Fall No-Charge Yard Waste Day is Saturday

    The first No-Charge Yard Waste Day of the fall season will be this Saturday, Nov. 2, at GreenRU (formerly Chamness Technology), 400 Freel Drive. Three additional no-charge Saturdays will be Nov. 9 (includes brush), Nov. 16, and Nov. 30. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for each day.

  • Proposed CAPER Available for Public Review

    The proposed 2018-19 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) is available for a 15-day public comment period that will end on Thursday, November 7.
