Adopting a pet from the Ames Animal Shelter can provide you with a loyal, loving companion and a new friend- if you are ready to adopt a new pet, and can provide a permanent and kind home to the animal. 

FIRST - Ask permission to select and spend time with the animal of your choice. Lists of dogs and cats ready for adoption are available on this site. The Animal Shelter is at 325 Billy Sunday Road - please stop by.

SECOND - After you have chosen the animal you wish to adopt, fill out the adoption papers. This takes approximately 10 minutes, and the animal can go home with you the next day. It takes a little time to review the application, prepare the animal, rebates, and paperwork.
