Ames Parks & Recreation Department will host a local meet on
Wednesday, May 21, 2008. This program is open to all children 9
through 14 years of age (age as of 12-31-08) and is the first step
in qualifying for the State Meet and National Meet, which is held
each August in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Each year a minimum of five Iowa children receive an all-expense
paid trip to the National Meet, courtesy of the Hershey Chocolate
Company. Events include: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 meter runs;
4x100 meter relay; standing long jump & softball throw.

Walk in to the Community Center, 515 Clark (south side of Ames City Hall, enter on 5th St.).
