MIKE GOLEMO is the director of the Ames Municipal Band.
Occupation: Director of bands and associate professor of music at Iowa State University
Family: Wife, Mary Beth, the coordinator of ISU's Frederiksen Court Student apartments; children, Molly, and Mac.
Where he comes from: Golemo grew up in Elk Grove, Illinois. He earned his bachelor's and master's degree in music from Northwestern University and a doctorate
from Michigan State University. Prior to coming to ISU, he worked 15 years as the assistant director of bands and director of the marching band at the University of
Akron.
