City of Ames : Municipal Utilities Online Customer Service

The Ames Municipal Utilities provides electric, water and sewer service to the community of Ames, Iowa. For over a 100 years, the citizens of Ames have enjoyed the benefits of owning and controlling their Municipal Electric, Water, and Water Pollution Control Utility systems.

Utility Customer Service Representatives are available to assist you from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays at 515 Clark Avenue (City Hall building) or (515) 239-5120. Our mailing address is: Utility Customer Services, PO Box 811, Ames, IA 50010-0811.

New Construction	To obtain temporary and permanent electric and/or water and sewer service when constructing a new home or building within an area served by the Ames Municipal Utilities.
Water Meter Replacement	Allows customers of the Ames Water Utility to respond to requests for water meter replacement scheduling.
Backflow Device Test Report Form	Plumbers - this is the form you'll need to fill out and submit each year after backflow protection devices have been tested.
