EMPLOYEE FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS
Your flexible benefits plan allows you to pay your premiums with
pre-tax dollars. It also allows you to contribute tax-free amounts
annually to reimbursement accounts. Please remember, any funds in
your reimbursement account(s) not used during the plan year will be
forfeited back to the plan.
The City of Ames plan year for flexible spending accounts runs from
January 1 to December 31. Claims for expenses in the calendar year
can be claimed up to 90 days after December 31.
Changes during the plan year are subject to federal regulations.
