Ames Citizens Academy

The Ames Citizens Academy provides an opportunity for Ames residents to learn more about their local government.  Established by the Mayor and Ames City Council in 2004, the annual Academy provides participants with the chance to get involved, get educated and get connected in their community.

The Ames Citizens Academy is held every other week for six sessions.  Each session is held on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and includes dinner.  The sessions are held at Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and the Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave.  Class size is limited to 25 participants.  Although perfect attendance is not required, it is appreciated.  Participants are asked to attend every class and let organizers know in advance when they can't attend.
