	Small Improvements can make a large difference when it comes to landscape irrigation. Install rain sensors so the landscape is irrigated only when necessary. Do not over-water; turf requires only one inch of water a week. Make sure sprinklers are set to irrigate only in the early morning and evening when evaporation is minimal. When landscaping, plant or request the planting of native plants and arrange them in sections according to water and light needs. This also minimizes maintenance. For individual plants, drip irrigation is the most effective means.
	Interior water usage also offers opportunity for conservation. Report leaks in faucets, toilets, and all other water fixtures so they can be repaired promptly. Invest in new ultra-low-flow toilets. Using only 1.3 gallons, some with dual flush capabilities, these toilets flush better than older models which use more water.
