| Hydrant Meter Policy | |
| A completed hydrant meter application must be submitted to the City of Ames Water Meter Division to obtain a hydrant meter. Click here to print an application. | |
| Hydrant meter will be installed and removed only by a City of Ames Water Meter Division employee. | |
| Customer must be present at time of hydrant meter installation. | |
| Hydrant will be turned on and off only by a City of Ames Water Meter Division employee. | |
| Backflow device will be tested by City of Ames Water Meter Division employee at time of installation and removal. | |
| Charges will be applied if hydrant meter and/or backflow device is damaged, moved, and if hydrant is turned on/off by the customer. | |
| Each
hydrant installation will be reviewed every 30 days to determine necessity. |
