The staff of the Ames Water and Pollution Control Department have always taken, and continue to take, their charge of protecting public health very seriously.

We very much want to reassure our customers that we continue to take all responsible measures to protect the utilities.  Unfortunately, we have also been made rudely aware of the fact that we should not be too open about our security measures.  For that reason, we are declining to discuss with anyone the procedures we have in place or the reasons for those procedures.
