Conservation > City of Ames Commitment


The City of Ames has developed the EcoSmart program to bring together all of it's conservation efforts.

Included in the EcoSmart program consists of not only Smart Water efforts, but also Smart City, Smart Energy, Smart Trash and Smart Ride efforts.
The city is putting in rain gardens in multiple locations including the Library, City Hall, and The Water Plant.
CyRide has included LEED certification into its new expansion of its facilities. In this plan is a roof water collection system to use for the property's landscape needs.			The Water and Pollution Control Department plants its rain garden in front of the Water Plant at 300 East 5th Street
