The sample location on
College Creek used for the ongoing monitoring program is different
from the location used during the summer of 2000. During
2000 the sampling was concentrated in the western part of Ames to
monitor for a specific, known problem. The ongoing
monitoring location was moved closer to the interior of the city
to be representative of a larger portion of the creek.
Samples are collected
from the south bank of College Creek in the ISU Arboreteum, on the west (upstream) side of the walking
bridge. Samples will be collected 4 times per year,
approximately every two months during the outdoor recreation
season (April, June, August, October).
