The Carroll Marty Disc Golf Course in Gateway Park (see Park System) is open for the public's enjoyment free of charge.
The disc golf course is named after Carroll Marty, a volunteer who spent approximately 300 hours of his time designing, installing, constructing and conditioning the disc golf course. For more information go to www.pdga.com/worlds04.

The course is located in Gateway Park, which is just south of the ISU Towers Residence Halls, and adjacent to the Gateway Volleyball Courts.
Disc golf is like the sport of golf, only a frisbee (disc) is used instead of a golf ball. Eighteen 4 feet high baskets catch the discs. The goal is to complete the course in the fewest number of throws. The equipment used for playing disc golf is simple and cheap. The only equipment needed is a disc that costs under $10.
Disc golf can be played alone or with the entire family. One round usually lasts about one hour.
Before playing, pick up a scorecard or purchase a disc at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office located in Gateway Park. The office is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
