1.    Building Permit Application

2.  Site plan showing:

              All easements
         Setback requirements
         All buildings on the property
         Distance to all property lines from the proposed deck and all buildings    
 

3.    Construction plans:
            Floor plan
            Footing/foundation detail (size and depth) - if using
                piers for the footing/foundation note the location and
                number of piers
            Height of the deck above grade
           Type of framing and decking materials
           Framing details – size and spacing of posts, beams,
                and floor joists
           Method of attachment to the house (size and spacing
                of fasteners)
            Flashing detail at house
           Type of fasteners (e.g., hot dipped galvanized steel,
                stainless steel, silicon bronze, or copper) if using
                pressure preservative wood
            Stairway detail, if applicable (width, rise, and run
                dimensions)
            Handrail detail, if applicable (shape and mounting
                height)
          Guardrail detail, if applicable (height and spacing)

4.    Additional homeowner permit applications, if owner-occupant
            intends to perform any electrical, mechanical, or
            plumbing work.
 

5.  A Certificate of Appropriateness is required if the property is l
        located in the Historical District (need to apply
        for this through the Historic Preservation Commission)
