The Ames City Council will discuss recently adopted revisions to the Rental Housing Ordinance at its upcoming workshop scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the Ames City Council Chambers, 515 Clark Ave. The public is encouraged to provide input on the changes.
Rental housing code changes focus on occupancy restrictions and parking requirements associated with single-family and two-family rental units. The first hour of the workshop will include staff presentations to Council. The second hour will be for public input and Council discussion. Public comment will be limited to three minutes per participant. There will be no Power Point presentations allowed. Ten copies of any handout for distribution at the workshop must be delivered to the City Clerk by no later than 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Handouts may not be distributed during the meeting.
Comments on the amendments to the recently adopted ordinance can be sent directly to the Ames City Council through email. A group email link for the Ames City Council is available here.
The City Council will not take action at this meeting, but follow-up action could be brought back at a future City Council meeting.
