Freedom Winds Air Force Ensemble to Perform at Ames City Auditorium on Feb. 7

The Freedom Winds Ensemble, one of nine ensembles with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, at the Ames City Auditorium, 520 Sixth Street. The concert is free and open to the community. The Freedom Winds Ensemble is composed of six virtuoso Airman Musicians. Members of the group have diverse musical interests, which leads to programs with something for everyone. In addition to showcasing traditional woodwind quintet pieces, performances by Freedom Winds take audiences on a tour of some of the most beautiful and exciting music from various cultures around the world. The ensemble’s diverse repertoire also includes jazz and ragtime classics along with popular themes from Broadway’s hit shows and Hollywood’s greatest films.
